Diese Tage melden sich wieder aussergewöhnlich viele Menschen zu Wort im Bezug auf Apple. Angefangen hat es mit dem Vorsitzenden Art Levinson. Er ist im Verwaltungsrat seit dem Jahr 2000 und für ihn ist es immer noch seltsam, sein Wort war „weird“, dass Steve Jobs nicht an den Sitzungen teilnimmt.

Weiter war zu erfahren, dass der Verwaltungsrat in Sachen Produkte, Design oder gar Funktionalität eigentlich nichts zu sagen hat. Dem Gremium werden die neuen Produkte 6 bis 18 Monate vor dem Verkaufsstart gezeigt. Bis dann sind alle Prozesse und Einkäufe schon aufgegleist.

Aber auch Steve Wozniak, der Mitbegründer von Apple, hat sich noch zu Wort gemeldet. Er findet, Apple ist sehr nahe dran seinen Coolness-Status zu verlieren.

Ja, die Mitbewerber haben aufgeholt und das ist auch gut so! Nur so kann Wettbewerb und Innovationen entstehen. Zu lange war Apple unangefochtener Marktführer und vielleicht hat man sich einen Tick zu lange auf den Lorbeeren ausgeruht. Dennoch. Weltweit ist immer noch das iPhone 5 das meistverkaufte Smartphone, gefolgt vom iPhone 4S und erst dann kommt das Samsung Galaxy SIII.
